Closeup Portrait Still photos from Yelena's Beam Routine reminded me of Bob Dylan's Sad Eyed Lady. Very difficult and dangerous routine. Gymnastics is beautiful but also takes so much concentration and strength. Yelena retired from gymnastics a year after her Olympic All-Around title win in 1980. She stated later that she was so exhausted that she decided not to pursue her title beyond the World Championship.
